Product DescriptionThe ATS Acoustic Standoffs (AC) provide a means of scanning superficial structures within the near field and regions where acoustic coupling with conventional acoustics coupling gels alone may be difficult to maintain. The standoffs are composed of flexible low attenuative sonolucent gel, covered with a pliable film. The AC’s are non-disposable, will not leak if punctured and can be sterilized between examinations. The manufacturing technique utilized to produce the AC’s ensures that the gel adheres to the pliable film, thereby preventing the formation of air bubbles. The AC’s are available in a choice of thickness ranging from 1.0 to 4.0 cm.

Price: $85.00 EachProcedure of Use and CleaningPrior to use make sure the surface of the standoff is clean. The standoff may be cleaned with a germicidal soap or alcohol. Rinse thoroughly with warm water before using. Apply a generous amount of a high viscosity acoustic coupling gel to both sides of the acoustic standoff prior to beginning the ultrasound examination.
If sterilization is required, we recommend the using a cold glutaraldehye sterilizing solution such as Cidex® or steam autoclaving. Both methods should be performed in accordance with the procedures set forth by the individual institution.
